New Disease Reports
Started in 2000, New Disease
Reports is an international, open-access online journal of the British Society
for Plant Pathology.
Objectives
The main objectives of New
Disease Reports are (i) to provide a mechanism for rapid on-line reporting of
outbreaks of plant pathogens on a global scale, (ii) to provide a repository for
observations of the sort important to diagnosticians, field advisers,
researchers and plant health policy makers; and (iii) to encourage succinct
condensed reporting of disease observations.
New Disease Reports welcomes
submissions on all types of plant pathogens including:
Fungi
Bacteria
Nematodes
Phytoplasmas
Viruses and viroids
Special Notice (14 April 2010):
As previously notified, papers submitted and accepted in New Disease Reports since 1 January 2010 will no longer be published in Plant Pathology. However, NDR is undergoing further development as a peer-reviewed stand-alone on-line journal with the objective of providing rapid publication of new and unusual reports on plant diseases. Within the next few months there will be significant changes to NDR that will enhance the publication value of published papers, including issuing of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for each paper. More information about DOIs can be found at: http://www.doi.org/faq.html.
As a first step, an expanded format (longer manuscript, more references, etc.) has been introduced. In the future we also plan to produce a Portable Document Format (.pdf) version for download to give 'print quality' reproduction of published Reports (without images). Prospective authors are asked to look out for new information on the 'Submission' page of NDR's website.
